Highlights
- The price of the fence includes materials and installation.
- The price applies only if the site is in good condition. If the site requires additional treatment, please request a separate quote.
- the total length of the fence in feet is the main factor affecting the cost of your fence, try to measure it as accurately as possible.
- Soil Condition: If the ground is hard or rocky, more effort and specialized equipment may be needed to dig post holes, which could lead to additional costs.
- Terrain: Uneven or sloped terrain can make fence installation more challenging and therefore more costly.
- Obstructions: The presence of trees, large rocks, or any other obstructions along the fence line can increase the cost of installation as they might need to be removed or worked around.
- Access: If the area where the fence is to be installed is hard to reach, it might take more time and effort for the installation crew to carry materials to the site, which can also add to the labor cost.
- Local Regulations: Certain municipalities may require permits or have specific regulations about fence installation. These can include height restrictions, style limitations, or required distance from property lines. Any costs associated with meeting these regulations should be considered.
Vertical Wood Fence with lattice Trim
This very custom style will separate your fences from your neighbors. The Piano key look is constructed using 2”x2” redwood toppers while incorporating small spaces in between each piece keeping the fence all horizontal and vertical.
Materials:
- Posts: Pressure-treated pine posts offer strength and durability, especially when buried in the ground. The cedar caps add a touch of elegance and help protect the post tops.
- Rails: Pressure-treated pine rails provide the structural support for the fence.
- Pickets: Western Red Cedar is a naturally beautiful and rot-resistant wood, making it a great choice for fences.
- Trim: Cedar trim adds a decorative touch and creates the piano key effect.
- Rot Board: This pressure-treated board along the bottom helps prevent the pickets from rotting prematurely due to ground contact.
Construction:
- Vertical and Horizontal Design: The fence features vertical pickets with horizontal rails, trim pieces, and the rot board. The lattice/piano key effect is created by the spacing of the trim pieces.
- Post Installation: The pressure-treated posts are set deep into the ground for stability.
- Rail Attachment: The rails are securely attached to the posts to form the base skeleton of the fence.
- Picket Installation: The cedar pickets are attached vertically to the rails.
- Trim: The cedar trim creates the signature “piano key” look thanks to precise cutting and spacing of the boards.
